A low sex drive now and again is normal. Sex drives fluctuate and there’s nothing shameful about having a low libido.
If it persists, though, you might be looking for ways to help bump it back up.
But how can you do it?
You can take pills and use ointments but these are often expensive. There must be a more natural way to increase your libido, right?
Depending on your situation, we may be able to help. Keep reading for a few ways to work on increasing your libido naturally.
1. Boost Your Confidence
Depending on your reasoning for the low libido, you might just need an attitude adjustment.
Things like depression and poor self-esteem can be libido killers. You’ll feel down overall and you might feel unworthy of attention. You may not even want to look at yourself naked, much less let anyone else see you that way.
Try some confidence-building exercises alone or with your partner. Consider seeing a counselor if it’s within your means.
2. Try Wine (But Only One Glass)
Alcohol can be a great libido booster. A date night isn’t often complete without a drink or two.
Wine loosens up your inhibitions, but too much can be a problem. You don’t want to be drunk. You want to be aware and “in the zone” enough for enthusiastic consent.
Too much alcohol can also kill your sexual experience. People of all genders experience performance issues when they drink too much.
A single glass, however, is fine.
3. Get More Exercise
Bonus: this might also help with #1.
An inactive lifestyle can lead to sluggishness and an overall feeling of fatigue. When you’re fatigued, you won’t feel as motivated to get into the bedroom (except to sleep, that is).
Exercise gives you endorphins and it energizes you. This extra energy can boost your libido.
You may also find yourself in healthier shape after you start exercising. Building muscle and losing fat can make you feel confident and maybe even boost your endurance (more on that here: https://lyf.fit/wondering-how-to-build-your-sexual-endurance-first-learn-the-causes/)
4. Get More Sleep
This may be a natural result of getting more exercise.
When you’re overtired, you’re going to find it difficult to get “in the mood”. Just the idea of sex can be annoying when you’d rather just sleep off the troubles of your day.
Make sure you get your full 7 to 9 hours of sleep when you’re able. While busy work schedules and children can get in the way of this, the less tired you are, the more enthusiastic about sex you can be.
5. Eat Chocolate
What’s a better solution than chocolate? Chocolate solves all of the world’s problems, and low libido is one of them.
Chocolate increases the “happy chemicals” in your brain, boosting your sex drive naturally. It may also increase blood flow which can help in the bedroom.
A chocolate dessert at the end of your date might just be what the doctor ordered.
