Breath mint: check. Christian Dior cologne: check. A survivor’s guide for “When Should You Kiss a Girl?”
Double-check.
Girls are hard to read, dude. They’re the best poker players, and their hand is full of hearts.
It’s also nothing you should be ashamed of. About a third of the male population struggle with the fairer sex. Whether it’s not knowing when to approach a woman for a kiss or how to approach them at all.
Read this guide. Otherwise, the right time to kiss a girl will pass you by. All of her desire to kiss you lies in these subtleties.
She’s Making Kissy-Lips
This is, for obvious reasons, the most striking and blatant body sign. We probably don’t have to define what kissing is, but know that it involves two sets of lips. When a girl is thinking about kissing you, she’ll become preoccupied with – you guessed it – her lips.
Hints for “kiss me, you fool” include: when she licks her lips, bites her bottom-lip, or puckers up.
But don’t take it the wrong way. One of the complexities of women is that they’re hard to read. A lip bite or her gnawing down can indicate two separate things.
Some people have a tendency to bite their lips when they’re nervous. Or worse, she’s entirely uncomfortable and her lip biting is a habit in those situations.
Before you swoop in for a smooch, because she’s doing stuff with her lips, make sure she’s at ease. It’s hard to read when a lady wants a kiss, but it should be easily distinguished when she’s not feeling it.
How Close Is She?
A lot of signals are conveyed through proximity. Think about it.
When you’re uncomfortable or scared of something in front of you, you step back. A disgusting sight is met with grimace and space. But something that entices or excites you, you’ll likely approach it.
We’re just primal apes with great coordination. We say things pretty loudly through our body actions alone.
Pop quiz: if a woman’s sitting close to you, and leaning in closer, how does she feel? She’s clearly not in disgust or in fear.
Take her closeness as a huge, welcoming flag. If she gets any closer, and you don’t kiss her, she might whack you on the head.
The thing you should look out for is her hesitance. Women don’t typically take the first leap of faith It’s not unheard of, but it’s usually tasked to a man to kiss first. When she leans in, she won’t go all of the way. Close that gap and go in for a kiss.
Touch is also a huge indication of desire. It’s one of the most heavy-handed weapons in a woman’s arsenal. A playful touch is what you’re looking for. She might make a bashful excuse, but if it’s to touch you, it’s a huge indicator of wanting a kiss.
Perhaps she really, really like your hideous and tattered band tee. She’ll pull at the collar or feel the seams on the shoulders. She doesn’t give a hoot about your shirt, man.
Touching is a pretty difficult barrier for a woman to hurdle, but when she does, it’s very obviously a signal. If you playfully touch her—maybe give a gentle shove—it’ll make her comfortable and more likely to touch back.
Eyes Are the Answer to When Should You Kiss a Girl
Look no further. It’s all in her eyes.
A lot can be said about a person through their eyes. After all, it’s the gateway to somebody’s soul.
What people are hiding can almost always be revealed through the peepers. When someone’s lying, they often won’t look you in the eye. It’s instinctual to avoid eye contact because it’s such a giveaway.
More importantly, eyes can reveal when someone wants something. Strong, unbreakable eye contact has a few connotations.
When looking at someone directly, you’re showing them a sign of respect. Always look a business partner in the eye.
Directness is also a sign of honesty. It has the opposite effect of when someone is avoiding contact.
It can also be a sign of lust. A woman’s pupils will widen and dilate when they’re taking you all in. They like what they see; it’s almost like they’re trying to see more of you.
A pair of eyes are extremely expressive. They speak just as loudly as words. Listen to them and try to understand what each signal means.
It’s easy to differentiate emotions through a person’s eyes. A person on the verge of crying will try to shut their eyes tightly. An angry person will furrow their brow and their lower-lids will close because their jaw is clenching.
It’s hard to describe “bedroom eyes,” but they can be felt in the moment. It almost looks like a glazed-over, half-drunken stare. Trust us – this is more something you’ll feel than can be verbally expressed.
If they are “those” eyes, be sure you’re prepared for that next step. Have working protection. And if it’s your first time, and you’re nervous, try taking a PT 141 supplement.
What’s She Saying?
Aside from the obvious body language, listen to the cadence of her voice. It’s not always what she’s saying to you, but more how and why she’s saying it.
Her asking about your family, past love-interests, and personal questions aren’t meant to be intrusive. She’s frankly just trying to get to know you on a deeper level.
How does she respond to your corny, not-so-funny jokes? If it’s a hardy laugh, it’s not because you’re a comedian. It’s because she’s into you.
Look for questions. If it’s a constant barrage of interrogation, don’t misinterpret this.
Questions, whether she knows it or not, are an indirect way of showing interest. The more the merrier, in this case.
Kiss Her, You Fool
Women are complicated creatures. It’s a tough job to crack their codes, but it’s not impossible, either.
All people have subtleties that give away what we’re thinking. A woman playing with her lips, giving you wanting eyes, playfully shoving, or asking you an onslaught of questions are all signs.
It’s not an art to read somebody’s poker face. When should you kiss a girl is whenever they’re making it obvious.
