If you haven’t already seen the awesomely funny Chinchilli Day, Jolly Roger Day or my favorite above Shin Whacking Day advertisements then you have been missing out (go check the others out on youtube right now…I SAID NOW!!). They are all awesome excuses to be taking the day off work (or just normal life) and heading to Vegas. But what better excuse could there be for any budding wedding photographer then WPPI Day (Wonderful Photography People Introduction Day). And what would make WPPI Day even better….winning a free registration worth $400!. The dashing, adventurous, keffiyeh wearing and camel riding Lawrence of Tofurious has ten free passes to give away to some lucky blog readers….all us lucky blog readers have to do is to post here why we want to go to the WPPI. So here is my post and reasons. 1. It’s in Vegas baby! 2. When you are starting out in wedding photography any education or advice you can get from people more experienced then you is just so amazing and appreciated. 3. It would be such an memorable and fun experience to meet with people who share your passion and a great start to get you amped for photography in the new year! 4. It’s Vegas baby! So…..fingers and toes crossed for me please…and if I win I will put a $20 on red for everyone!!! melissa@freshinlove.com
Oh, Hi!! Welcome to my blog!
Thanks for wanting to find out a bit more about the face behind the camera :)
The first thing I want to say is that I'm not just another wedding photography business. I'm more like your friend with really good photography skills...your friendographer!
I was born in New Zealand, raised in a circus in Australia and lived in London for eight years. As a child I dreamed about running away from home to join a normal suburban family.
Yes that is really a photo of me as a baby with a monkey. Please note the monkey is on the chain not me. Also...my legs still look pretty much the same as what they did then :(
I drink altogether too much coffee and I sing loudly in the shower (not at the same time obviously). I make no apologies for either!
I love acoustic guitar and have been trying to learn for 5 years now. I still only know three basic chords.
I know I would want my wedding photos to remind me of not just how I looked but what I felt on the day...beautiful, loved and excited! That what I want for you too.
I feel I should warn you will probably want to kick out a bridesmaid and make room for me in your wedding party. Okay maybe thats a little extreme. But I'm pretty sure you will want me as your friendographer once you meet me!
